KLE Society's Smt.V.V.D. Institute of Nursing Sciences, Dandeli's GNM 2nd year students participated in a camp organised by West Coast Paper Mills Ltd., Dandeli, in association with Vihaan Heart & Super Speciality Hospital, Hubballi, a Free Heart Disease Checkup Camp under the supervision of senior cardiac specialist Dr. Santosh Palled from Vihaan Heart Care Centre. The public was invited to take advantage of this free medical camp where BP, RBS, and ECG tests will be conducted at no cost. People experiencing symptoms of heart disease such as chest pain, pricking pain in the chest, breathlessness, burning sensation in the chest, getting tired with small activities, uneven heartbeat, cold sweating, or nagging pain in the shoulders and hands are encouraged to attend. Smokers, diabetics, and individuals above 40 years of age were especially advised to benefit from this camp. Participants were requested to bring their old medical records if available. The camp was held on 8th March 2026 (Sunday) at Shree Ranganath Auditorium, Bangur Nagar, Dandeli, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with registration starting at 8:30 AM. KLE Society's Smt. V.V.D. Institute of Nursing Sciences, Dandeli's GNM students participated in legal awareness program organized with the support of organizations such as the Lions Club International to educate women about their legal rights and protection under Indian law. The program aimed to create awareness about women’s rights, legal remedies, and safety measures available to them, helping women understand the laws and support systems that protect them from injustice and empower them to seek justice when needed. As part of the initiative, a free health check-up camp for women was conducted to promote women’s health and well-being. The event included guidance from legal experts and resource persons who explained important legal provisions related to women’s safety and empowerment. The program was scheduled to be held on 5th March 2026 at 8:00 AM at Annapoorneshwari Bhavan, where participants gained valuable knowledge about both their legal rights and health awareness.

IInd year students of KLE Society's SmtVVD Institute of nursing sciences, Dandeli visited KLE Advanced Simulation centre and clinical skills lab @ jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Belgaum , Karnataka (590010)
Simulation based training is the need of the hour in Medical Education. The students were trained on simulated models and mannikins to acquire and practice various patient care skills like resuscitation of seriously ill patients, emergency care, conducting deliveries even in complicated situations, performing surgeries, procedures like catheterization, venipuncture, tracheostomy, intubation, etc.
It was a worthy of a visit.

A lamp lighting and oath-taking ceremony was organized under the guidance of Principal Shri. Vinayak I. Patil for the newly admitted 17th batch GNM students at Hornbill Hall, Dandeli.
The programme was inaugurated by chief guest Shri B. N. Vasare Sir (District President, Kannada Sahitya Parishat), guests of honour Dr. S. N. Dafedar Sir (Dentist/Dental Surgeon, President, Indian Dental Association) and Shri. Sangamesh H. Veerapur Sir (Deputy Range Forest Officer, Bhagawati) by lighting the lamp. The President of the function, Shri Vinayak I. Patil Sir, delivered the presidential remarks.
He stated that nursing is a noble profession. He advised students that service with humanity is very important. Nursing students should serve patients with love and dedication and bring pride to the profession.
Speaking further, he said that in the future the students should provide service to society by following discipline, dedication, and responsibility. He emphasized that students should be compassionate towards patients and understand their pain.
On this occasion, the 17th batch GNM students took the oath and pledged that they would render service with honesty and dedication and maintain the dignity of the nursing profession.
The college authorities said that the college has been consistently providing quality education and producing competent nursing professionals.
The programme was presided over by the institution’s management. Faculty members, administrative staff, students, and parents were present.
The programme concluded successfully.
